You're obviously such a superior writer that you can encapsulate a huge amount of information prefacing a question into a precise and self-explanatory post, which is simply marvelous. Not everybody has such talent. Feel blessed that you're so very special.

Well your choices were a bit lacking. I selected all pages on the post and yes I will do that.

But if it is a long thread, 30 or so pages, I will read the first few pages to get an idea of what is going on (sometimes the OP clears some things up in later posts) and then I'll read the last few pages and then respond. But then I will go back and read the rest of it if it is a post I want to respond in.

Some of them I don't because the URL contains a bad word which may be seen by work.

Depends on the subject, how early I get in on the thread, how much the topic interests me, how the OP is delivered and who else is responding to the thread.

I've read every single post in a lot of threads, particularly over in P & C. EVEN in the monstrously long threads but I have to admit reading some of the thread titles in Relationships I can't even muster up the energy to open the thread.

I covered all cases:

Reading a whole thread is pretty rare - it's either very interesting or it contains more details about a serious situation I'm inclined to give input into.

I generally don't reply unless I have read all the pages.

And I usually don't even look at a post that has more than 5 or 6 pages. Depends on the subject matter though.

Of course, otherwise, what's the point in asking? You have to give all the necessary information before you can pose the question. Unless you're just describing a situation, and you would like comments on it. That's a different subject.

Clear, complete, and concise. The best way to communicate.

I always read all the pages(glad I caught this one at three pages!) but I start from the last reply and read to the first because some times a thread can melt down or morph into something else.

Which is why I laugh so hard when I catch flack for responding to some of the threads I do respond to.

At least the OP should be happy I read the silly thread title and was STILL compelled to post!
