How can one say any person is "good" or "bad"? There is no inherent good or evil in any of us. We are just animals. Humans may do "good" things or "bad" things as defined by society or exhibit "good" or "bad" behavior but in the individuals mind I am sure they think they are doing "good".
There is that expression that "if you think you are crazy you are not." Meaning a crazy person wouldn't realize or think that they are crazy. Likewise would a 'bad" person think they are "bad"? Probably not. Did Hitler think that he was bad? I doubt it. He probably saw himself as doing good for the German people?
Forgiveness
it doesn't really relieve the persons actions but....
it does allow for a good person to make mistakes
Forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves
As humans we make lots of mistakes and bad decisions, even Mother Theresa considered herself a sinner!
But I think the "good" sinners are the ones who recognize their bad choices, accept the responsibility for the damage or pain they have caused, and vow to never do the same thing again.
The "bad" among us tend to be more sociopathic and just don't care about the damage and distruction they cause.
