Unhappy Think He Is Looking For A Reason

A friend of ours had a Bad car wreak few years ago and was laid up and at the same time his wife became Disabled. He had just bought a New home and was running short of funds so he drawed against his 401K but forgot to pay Taxes and all.Well the IRS was taking any Tax Refunds to collect the money.

Well couple years ago we caught our friend out with another woman. We didn't say anything to his wife.

Well last few days my wife has been trying to call him, kept getting the Answering Machine.Instead of the usual This is Him,His wife and Daughter it was just His Wife and Daughter. And usually he would call right back soon as he got a chance.I told my wife I bet they split try having his wife call us.

Well he finally called said that indeed him and his wife had split. That the IRS had took all their savings they were going to lose everything so he felt it was no better time than the present to leave his wife that there wasn't anyone else involved.

I really feel sorry for his wife.He don't think of the fact he left his first wife because she was messing around.

Your friend sounds like an opportunist, plain and simple...

On a side note, how can someone "forget" to pay taxes on a premature withdrawal on a 401k??? Sounds sketchy.

I'm thinking he is just looking for an easy out.Just because a person loses everything is no reason to just pack up and leave.Even though the A my Mom was with did the same with her when they found they owed the IRS $100K.

I really need to find better friends. He told me one time he had Jobs for me and my wife.So we drove 800 miles to find there wasn't any Jobs.He was wanting us to stay with them,go on Welfair and make their Trailer Payment.Plus he was working as a Butcher and was stealing Meat from work.We took him and his Ex into town one time. They both Shoplifted while we was in a store. This was 25 years ago and I don't think he has changed his ways.

Sorry but one has to question why you would stay friends with these losers so long all things considered.
