Sounds like he's got a manipulative crazy narcissist on his hands. I'd run for the hills but you have to get burned at least once to know to run.
That's what I think too, I'm just trying to look out for him so he doesn't get burned.
I had a run-in with a girl like this many years ago and it was an awful experience. Knowing what I know now, if someone would have warned me or intervened, I would have greatly appreciated it.

My ex was the male version of this girl. I was naive. I got burned. But if I could do it again, I'd allow it to happen again because it was one very big lesson learned. It hurt, it sucked, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me---to realize that people who talk themselves up may actually have very little to offer.
Stay out of it. It's just coffee, for Pete's sake. If he doesn't meet her, he'll always wonder.
