Majority of single women shallow??? I'd say no... I've been on plenty of dates and I'd say around 35-40 percent of the time my date will insist on paying. Especially if it is like date number three or four....
So if she pays for half the date that determines if she is shallow, or not?
If a woman is hanging out with you for the sole purpose of getting free stuff, then I'd say that is pretty shallow.
But just because she doesn't pay half doesn't mean she doesn't like you or that her sole purpose in hanging out with you is to get "free stuff".
I have five brothers, none of them would ever dream of letting a woman pay half on a date.
Ahhh feminism. Men will decry the outrages of it til the cows come home, but are all too willing to support the part that leaves them with a little more cash in their wallets. Irony.

I was simply answering the OP's question whether the majority of single women are shallow and use their dates to try to get a free meal out of them. I was just simply stating that from my experience the answer is no. I didn't mean that if a guy pays for his date than the woman is automatically shallow. Maybe I should have worded that better....
It doesn't bother me at all to drop $100 on a meal, and I always pay for my date's meal.
What I'm trying to say girls is that it's not cool to start bragging and gloating about the "win", you scored on a guy from getting him to pay for a fancy meal when you had no interest in him.
I'm also not saying that women are any less than men. Unfortunately in the dating world today, it's is full of both men and women who are stupid, loud and selfish. Don't lose hope though, eventually if you keep at it you can find someone amazing. Just a lot of crap you have to go through on the way to get to that point.

Don't mind me. I've had two martinis and am a bit feisty tonight.

You forgot to add, "Girls, it's not cool to...":
-network with a guy you went on a date with because that's considering using him.
-accept or enjoy any compliments from your date. Ego boosts are only to be accepted by men you like.
I would never go out with a guy for a free meal. I don't like eating in front of people, so a first (or second) date in a nice restaurant would stress me out! I'd much rather go to a hockey or baseball game instead. I also have no problems paying. I invited my ex to an amusement park last summer so I paid for the tickets. No biggie.
