Men, please stop it. They NEVER look good, and it telegraphs your insecurities.
My friend is dating a man who wears one which looks utterly ridiculous. When they first met, she and I talked about how awful it is, but now she really likes the guy and so I would never mention it again. Either she'll discuss it with him, or she won't.
The only two men I know who wear them have at one time been in some type of show business, so I guess it's more accepted in those circles, but fast forward to 30 years later and why can't they give it up?
It's not as if the world isn't full of very attractive bald men.

I wear mine because when I was 5 I lost all my hair in a tractor fire. It's very stylish, however. Mine is custom with great attachments such as various mullets.

I can go with the "mulletino" (also came with a thin creepy mustache), a "virgin mullet" attachment (very narrow mullet with a flesh colored mustache), and it even came with a porn star attachment which is nothing more than a greasy pony tail, but it gives me the sleek high speed look I have always craved, but LA Looks hair gel failed to provide.

Why is it a dealbreaker if a guy is insecure, yet women have makeup, plastic surgery, girldes, everything to make them appear the way they are not, and men just have to accept that's that's what they do..

Why so many double standards? If a guy wants to wear a skunk on his head, that's his business, and no less insecure than your boob job, hair extensions, or orthodontic work.

Women do all that crap to attract men because men are so "visual" and only attracted to youth and beauty. I dont think it is due so much to insecurity as enhancing their beauty. Toupees are not attractive, but go ahead and wear one. BTW, do women still wear girdles?

ENHANCING??? Are you serious? My Grandfather used to always tell me, that before I marry any "broad" I had best dump her in the pool to get a look at what she really looks like. Women have fake everything these days.

Fake hair
Fake nails
Fake boobs
Fake teeth
Fake cheeks
Fake faces
Fake eye color
Fake eye lashes
Fake hips
Push up bras
elevated shoes
hair extensions
fake hair color

The list goes on and on.........so some poor dude wants to wear a rug, bit freakin deal!

The problem with a toupee is that most of them really do look bad whereas having dental work because your teeth look like a picket fence seems perfectly reasonable and will improve your appearance. It's true that women have alot more maintenance than most guys with makeup and everything but for the most part it looks attractive. There was a guy who worked in the same building I did who'd had some kind of hair implants but it was the worst job I've ever seen and it looked like a cornfield with little groups of hair all lined up in a row, almost like a doll's head. A bald head would have looked much more attractive and he probably paid a fortune to have it done. You wouldn't want to hurt someone's feelings and tell them it looked terrible but the only way a toupee or implant would work would be if you couldn't tell it from the real thing.

He does have a point.
You should see some of the hideous creations around here, sadly, which are becoming the norm, rather than the exception.

They have their coloured hair, with their extensions, or clip on pony tails.
They have a half inch of make up on.
They have their super-duper steel reinforced push up bra. Which may contain fake boobs.
They have their control panties, to suck in their belly, and ass.
then they might have some kevlar pantyhose to hold in their cellulite.
More often than not, they'll have fake tan.
They wear high heels to make their legs look better.

And a guy wants to wear a wig in public, and that's wrong ?
Ok, there are bad wigs out there, but there are some which you'd never know.
