It was approved -- very narrowly-- in 1920.

Equal rights opponents then challenged the validity of the amendment in court. It was two years later, in 1922, that the Supreme Court upheld the 19th amendment's guarantee of the right for women to vote in the case of Leser v. Garnett.

Moral of the story: never underestimate the ignorance, stubbornness, and instransigence of those who oppose human and social progress.

On the other hand, sometimes "progress" can be, in military parlance a rapid advance to the rear!

Problems are relative. At least in the sense how that all problems by definition (in some sense) affect a person's quality of life, so who really is to say that a problem means nothing?
