I think that when you get older, you're FAR less concerned with what everyone else thinks, too. You're secure in yourself, know what you want (because of all of the experience you've gained through the years and other relationships), and when you find someone interesting, you're not going to waste time and play games. At least, that's how I see it.

Honestly, I LOVE being middle-aged, single, and an empty nester. I have no one around to pass judgment on me and my choices and I have the freedom to do as I please. Not that I necessarily took others' opinions to heart in the past, but the fact that parents and an ex and even a teen-ager felt the need to judge was disconcerting. Also, of course, I'm now more concerned with finding someone who makes my heart happy, and have outgrown the need to be attached to eye candy, heh.

Drover, point taken. Maybe I'm so used to LOSING interest that I'm a little surprised that my interest in her is growing.

Wow! Thanks for the prep talk there Huck I can always count on you to wrap a cloud around that silver lining

teatime, I get what you're saying but as best as I can remember I don't believe I've ever liked anyone based on what other people thought. And most of my friends and family don't seem to have much of an opinion either way about the girls I've gone out with.

Sure it's enough time to know if there is an interest. But that isn't love dear...not even close. Take your time and stop analyzing everything so much!

I wish you well, my friend. Remember, you miss one hundred percent of the shots you don't take. I think love is worth the risk.

Don't worry about the time - follow your heart! Over the years I have met many attractive men, who within 10 minutes had said the wrong thing! Then there were others that just had personality plus, so you just never know. But I think you should follow your heart....Best Wishes, Lucki
