Default Received an unusual invitation for coffee from a women I met online this morning

My ringer is off on Sunday mornings so when I woke up and saw the number of a certain girl on my caller id, I was thinking she was trying to reconnect with me since we only talked on the phone once.

But......she was calling because she was IN MY AREA and thought that SINCE SHE WAS IN MY AREA that we could meet at starbucks for coffee on a sunday morning without any previous discussion about meeting.

Am I the only one who thinks this type of invite was weird? Now let me just say if she had called me let's say now, and wanted to meet up I would have said SURE. But to just call someone you barely know on a sunday at 10am because YOU HAPPEN TO BE FREE is just a little strange to me.

It's rude. Rebuff her coldly.

It was early, she wanted a Starbucks and was short on cash. She thought.. OK what sucker do I know who's desperate for a date, will get up early to walk to Starbucks in the snow and cold and spend $5 bucks so I can have a little caffeine.

Your name came to mind.

Good grief, its a simple yes or no invitation, it doesn't warrant a lengthy discussion. I would only expect an 17 year old girl to over-analyze something as basic as an impromptu coffee invite.

What planet are you on in which a woman would go out of her way to scam you out of a fiver? It's five bucks. The average homeless person I see on my way to work probably has $5 in a pocket someplace.

She chose a coffee date because of her coffee-drinking skills. I'd say, "Go for it!"

It doesn't seem weird to me at all. So what did you do anyway, did you call her back?

The word is spontaneous. Look it up if you have to.

I don't go to Starbucks, its a total rip off as far as I am concerned.

Aren't you growing tired of sexist jokes, especially ones that aren't even funny? The gender bashing on this board - and I feel the same about women bashing men - is ridiculously out of hand.
