I just love such stories. Sure give others hope that not every man or woman has deep issues (no thanks to poor parenting, usually) !

Me too - six years younger. Many of my friends and family are with partners with an age gap. What counts is personality, maturity and compatibility (although as someone mentioned, energy level if one is an active person is also something to consider - guessing that won't be a problem for the OP at 22).

I have never subscribed to the belief that older = more mature. My ex is 44 and he is more immature than a lot of 25-year olds I know.

And my husband who is six years younger than me is definitely more mature than I am LOL.

There's no good reason not to date someone younger, especially if they are perfect for you. I say go for it!

No i would not date a guy 4 years younger than me, i prefer older guys. It feels more natural for me.

I guess those are just standards we grow up with, thus we think they are natural when in fact they are probably cultural and historical.

Four years is really nothing, an age difference of 20 years or so is much more interesting. Are there sugar mommies?

My boyfriend is 18 going on 19 in August but I'll be 22 next month, my mom makes harsh judgmental comments to me every chance she get! The comments hurt so bad but I love him so much! What should I do?

The older a person is, the more acceptable and viable this choice is. I would do it, why not? We're practically contemporaries. He would have been a freshman in high school when I was a senior..and that is kind of cool when you think about it, because I would be "young enough" and he would be "old enough" for both of us to appreciate the music of our youth.
