It may not be fair but the truly wealthy and connected people don't play the same game many of us play.
The part I left out about our Friend is that several of the men she went shopping with were married. Married men pay cash when they are buying for their lady friends. Cash items are easier to return since there is no credit card involved.
Definitely true, although I don't begrudge my folks the perks as they worked damned hard to get them

All I could think was $28 for two popcorns and Cokes? Another good reason not going OUT to the theater is a good idea, and watching from home, either from something like Netflix, or Video-on-Demand services.
No kidding. I took the gkids to see Avatar. The movie 2 sodas and 1 popcorn about $50.
Yes, Ron, we get it: You are rich. So filthy rich, you actually have a wallet! With real money in it! Enough to pay a cell phone bill! And you make out too! Wow, a straight guy with a hundred bucks on him -- be still my beatin' heart.
I havent been out to see a movie since I cant remember when so I thought Id go all out with the popcorn and soda.
Oh absolutely, and I love movie theater popcorn. The most I would do now is buy a kids meal or something, which is usually about $6 and comes with candy, drink, and popcorn but in small portions. Suits me just fine. I just have a major issue with paying that much for one single item, especially given how expensive the tickets are. I also usually go to a matinee.
