Per usual I'm missing two of the three quote icons and the edit icon. So, I cannot edit the above post. Apparently the cowboy link didn't work.
Here's the link and a snippet.
Geography, climate and cultural traditions caused differences to develop in cattle-handling methods and equipment from one part of the United States to another. In the modern world, remnants of two major and distinct cowboy traditions remain, known today as the " Texas" tradition and the "Spanish", "Vaquero", or " California" tradition. Less well-known but equally distinct traditions also developed in Hawaii and Florida

Eastern NM reporting in here.
My answer to the question- hell yes, I would date a cowgirl.. there's something about a girl in fitted jeans and boots that gets my engine revving.
I know it's not real, but..

Actually... there are a few farms and ranches in Orange County. The CA University at Irvine has a nice size farm, and I bought my steer at an auction that was held at the OC Fair/Event center. I also went to a few horse shows and livestock shows there.
It's all around you...you just choose not to see it.

So, would any of you ladies or men out there in C-D Relationship Land consider dating a rodeo cowboy or cowgirl? Now, I'm not talking about a full-time/traveling-career like one, only the weekend/local type (like I was).
Just very, very curious!!

A real cowboy/rodeo/rancher - yes they exist. I have dated them - and would love to find another one!

I'm going to the PBR event at the Superdome this Friday so will let y'all know if'n I rope me one of them fine boys...
If I was single (duh) and he was an all-rounder (intelligent, good conversationalist, reads boooks etc) then hell yeah I'd date him. I'd be worried about injuries though, same as if I was dating a cop, axman etc.

I'm not into the cowboy look 100% of the time, but I would definitely date someone who could pull it off with the right fashion elements (i.e. nice designer-type western shirt and distressed jeans, for example). But I'm not into the whole 'Wrangler' look (Wrangler jeans, huge belt buckle, cowboy boots, etc.)
I like to incorporate certain elements of western wear into my wardrobe, but I'll never completely be what I would consider a 'western' dresser.
