What does this mean?! Email from my ex (woman, friend, casual)

Hey everyone. I've been broken up with my ex for over 8 months now and I'm happy as ever (completely over him even though I was shattered and heartbroken for months). He was the one who broke up with me. He had insisted we remain friends, and after a few months I decided there was no harm in doing that. That wasn't such a good idea since I never completely got over him, and seeing him treat me as only a friend hurt a lot. Thankfully, months later, I can now say I'm 100% over him and we're on good terms. I'm studying abroad now and we keep in contact every once in a while. Just a while ago he sent me a very casual email asking how I was doing, etc., which is not strange since every once in a while he asks how I'm doing here. But then he proceeds to tell me this: "Heyy hope everything is going well with u in *name of country*! hows everything with u?? kinda miss u . its funny, although we've been broken up for a longgg time and im seeing someone, u cross my mind quite a bit... just thought id share that and hope everythings going well with u . OH btw.."

Not once since we've been broken up has he told me he missed me or I've crossed his mind. Why now?? What the heck? Or does this not mean anything at all?

Yep! I wouldn`t worry much about if his email means anything. I mean, if you are over him, then you shouldn`t have to sit and wonder what his email means, right?
Try to remain friendly, but ignore his comments! I think that would be your best bet!

Yeah you guys are right, I shouldn't care. And I don't. I was just surprised since he has so much pride and I didn't expect something like that coming from him. Oh well.

Hmmm, I think the relationship with the other woman is not going as well as he had imagined, and is beefing up his ego by emailing you and making a connection.

I'd take it with a grain of salt and keep focusing on your own life.

It means eventhough he's "with someone" he has the kind of fragile ego that needs to know you can not possibly be moving on and happy without him...

This is the kind of man who will string you along....say anything to get you to say you want him back.....just so he can tell you "sorry friend I'm with someone else now" OVER and OVER and OVER ad nausium.

Disentangle yourself from this "boy" quickly...
