Generally, it is only correct sometimes.

I owe Alfred Kinsey an apology. Perhaps his work had some merit since I may have shifted on the Kinsey scale..

Me, too. More like his mother in the face, but definitely more like him than Mom in every way.

Ohhh, very intersting observation. I take after my paternal grandmother.

My mother is short and stout and very very busty. Germanic. My younger sister favors her. I used to be jealous, but now that we are in our 30s/40s....not so much. I'll give up some of the cup size in order to retain some of my natural "slimness" as I age.

How true have you found this to be?
Like many of the other ladies here, I got many of my father's features. I have his teeth, eybrows and hair color.

I may not look a lot like my mom, and I might not when I get older but I hope I have her kindness and loving spirit that will shine in my eyes and smile like hers does.

I will look NOTHING like my mother because I have always taken immaculate care of my skin and looks. I already started wearing sunscreen at like 12 years old and as a result my skin is very flawless for my age. My mother didn't take good care of herself and didn't wear sunscreen every day to protect her beauty.

In addition I also have technology on my side. I only use the best sunscreens in order to protect myself, not only high in SPF but also PPD. The best ones are from Europe. I have better technology to take care of myself.

Plus I have no stress. I sleep 8 hours a day while my mom had sleeping issues and a lot of stress. I live with a very leisurely life. I will never end up looking my mother because she had a rougher life.

I have a MUCH easier life, no stress, plus I spend a lot of money and resources and only the best products/technology etc on myself. I will age 10x better than she did.

I also plan to never have kids so I will never have significant stress or worries. My life will always be relaxed and stress free so I will age much slower vs someone who has a lot of stress and responsibilities like my mother. All of my energy and resources can go to myself this way.

Trust me. I will never look like my mother.

What an awesome post.

Although I do not resemble her physically, I hope to carry on my mother's spirit of hospitality. She is an amazing cook ( a trait I hope to refine and share) and she has always had a knack for making people feel welcomed and appreciated.

In some cases a guy should look at the potential father-in-law to see what he would end up with in 25 years. Some girls will end up with the same beer belly as their dads.

It's probably safest to look at both parents and consider if you want to end up with one of them in just a couple decades.
