Despite being married I've been celibate for nearly 2.5 years, so it wouldn't be my wife -- I could just see that relationship continuing on an island:

Me: Did you catch fish today while I was hunting?
Her: Yes.
Me: Where are they?
Her: I mean 'no'.
Me: *pause*... Did you catch fish or not?
Her: I caught some, but they didn't look any good so I threw them back.
Me: Did you actually catch anything?
Her: No -- I mean 'yes'. There aren't actually any fish in these waters.
Me: I caught fish yesterday and we ate them. I showed you how so you could do it today while I went hunting.
Her: You probably caught them all.
Me: We have an entire ocean around us. Do you expect me to think there were only four fish in the whole thing?
Her: *blank stare*
Me: I'm going fishing, I guess.
Her: Didn't you get anything hunting?
Me: I found some game trails but I didn't get anything. I'll try again tomorrow.
Her: I didn't catch any fish, either. The fishing here is terrible.
Me: Did you actually GO fishing?
Her: No. I mean... 'yes'. I went fishing.
Me: You said 'no' at first. Did you go fishing?
Her: I went fishing, but I forgot for a second.
Me: You didn't go fishing, did you?
Her: Yes, I went! I DID!
Me: Okay, whatever...

*hours pass* Later, as we eat some fish I've caught:

Me: These are pretty good, and there seem to be a lot of them.
Her: That looked pretty easy. I should try it, then I can catch some fish while you go hunting.
Me: I thought you DID try it -- today! Didn't you go fishing?
Her: I did, but I didn't do it like that.
Me: What did you do?
Her: *blank stare*
Me: Well?
Her: *blank stare*
Me: Tomorrow I'm making a boat.
Her: Good -- we can get off this island! I need to go have lunch with my mother anyway...
Me: There will only be room for one.
Her: Which one?
Me: You.

Oh my gosh....hysterical.

I would have to say books. I love reading and it would help pass the time.

As we learned from Jot and the Mormons, that's the way it is, truly-uly-uly is...

And no, I wasn't joking. That's really what the majority of "conversations" around home are like, except she stares without answering a LOT more.

Actually, I'd take that redhead from the Juvederm commercials, Brenda Julian.

She'd balk because she's one of the "beautiful people" and I am not (I'm a nice-looking guy but I've got no illusions), so I'd have to use my weight to convince her.

- I'm overweight now, Brenda, but how long do you think that will last on an island where I'm forced to provide for us?

- Once I lose this weight, I'll be much, much better looking

- IF I don't manage to provide for us in a relatively short time, you could always kill and eat me, so long as you waited until I was asleep to make your move.

No, seeniorita, you should take me. I'm an avid reader as well and we can discuss books all you want when I'm not finding other ways to help you pass the time!

...visions of a Playboy mansion harem come to mind. Sorry STT, I allowed the adolescent portion of my brain to think out loud.

LOL I agree. I love my brat cat but he'd had to live forever and not croak on me

One item only.
The question is: which book would you bring?
