Would it bother you if your s/o calls others 'baby'?

If you call others baby and it bothers your s/o, would you stop?

Say they call everyone sweetheart, sweetie, honey, etc., but only when they call them 'baby', it bothers you, would you ask them to stop with the baby or try to blow it off?

Hey where'd that reply go? I was going to ask in response to it; so is asking someone to stop calling others baby trying to change them, per se?

I would not tolerate it and I don't think it's asking someone to change. When you get in a relationship with someone, some things should just be automatic.

So something that irks me is having a term of affection that's is applied to me used on someone else. If you are going to call me baby, sweetie, sugaH... whatever.... don't call anyone else that.
Since I don't date geriatric southern women I don't go for that...

But some habits are really hard to break. i am guilty of this sometimes. Nothing sexual about it. just an oft used phrase. unless there are inappropriate actions that go along with it, i dont see the harm.

I've learned that when something bothers me, then its best to let my partner know it bothers me. COMMUNICATION is key. Holding stuff in, only makes it worse in the long run, because you'll eventually BLOW and your partner will be standing there like WTH??!! Take it from me..lol

Default It's all about context, baby.

This is one of those things where it really depends on the person and, to a certain extent, the region and local culture where it takes place, and the relationship of the person being called "baby."

I'm a white chick on Long Island. On several levels, a white guy calling me "baby" up here on STRONG GUYLAND YO carries an entirely different connotation than female African-American co-workers and friends calling me "baby" in Virginia.
