I'm pretty sure he niche hobby means that it's something that the majority doesn't like. For instance I would say motorcycles are a hobby but not a niche hobby--but something like collecting koala bears might be a niche hobby.

My husband and I both collect vintage (80's) toys--so it's a match made in heaven. When we built our new home we both wanted a room specifically to ourselves for out collections--nerdy yes, but whatever I'm secure enough not in life to care anymore!

It does seems that in certain places and/or age groups if you don't like football, drinking and keeping up with the jones-es that you are labeled as 'weird'..

Have any "Click Clacks" or "Whee-lo's" you guys want to sell?

I guess I get the difference between "normal" hobby and "niche" hobby.

Ammo reloading can be considered a niche hobby just as my macro photography could also be considered a niche by some. Because all my pics are of bugs, insects and flowers usually means Im crawling around on the ground. My wife has not interest in either of these things.

I'd dont mind my husband or bf having any interests or hobbies as long as they don't include drugs, drinking, chasing women, or crime. Other than that we are good! Be thankful if all your man is interested in is sports and leisurely activities.

I have been playing competitive hockey since I was like 8 years old, and I have found that it is a complete turn off to many women. I have no idea why. Just because a guy likes to play a sport doesnt mean he is a sports obsessed meathead.

I think one of the problems nowadays is that women seem to want men that are either total players and hot or millionaires. Look at the crap that is pumped into the media about the type of men that are popular.

Then you have the media always calling people into sports, role-playing games, or collectors meatheads and nerds. If a woman doesn't like you for who you are and won't tolerate or share any of your interests then don't waste time on her. There are plenty of women out there who will.

I'm also on the other side of it. I don't share the same interests other women have because I think they are boring:

shopping at the mall all the time
lunch dates
spending half my time in the beauty salon
fawning over men
getting all dressed up to go ***** myself out at a club

This seems to be what the media thinks women should be out doing and it's what you see on these reality shows.
