I know, right? Hospitals are beyond hectic. Why would anyone want to marry someone that they work with over there? I would imagine that what most people want at the end of that shift -- and nurses especially -- is not to see any of those faces for a few hours.

Hi Redisca,
That does not surprise me. I think women like successful men, and I don't blame them for it. Good for you.
I sort of liked this girl in college who was going to be an engineer and was very good at math. As long as they are not a member of a Pythagorean cult I figure its a good thing.

Anyway, as to lawyers -- I don't know any male lawyers married to paralegals. Most are married to other lawyers, doctors, or other professionals. Furthermore, as someone who defends doctors and nurses on a regular basis, I have never met a doctor who is married to a nurse; or a nurse who is married to a doctor. At this point, I conclude that this commonly held "wisdom" that one way for a girl to marry a doctor or a lawyer is to become a nurse or a paralegal, respectively, is simply a myth.
|
Absolutely, totally agree. In 15 years of nursing, I only know personally one nurse who married a doctor. And all the male lawyers I ever knew married other female lawyers. It is definitely a myth. Why wouldn't the opposite occur? Sheer numbers. How many male nurses and paralegals do you know?
