I despise the word "uptight," even if it's said in a joking manner. I got that one a lot when I was younger (mostly from my older brother, because I didn't drink much and didn't do drugs and tended to be shy around people I don't know.) Now I have a visceral reaction to it. I don't like to hear it used in reference to ANYONE...myself included.

Nice and Sweet.

Mostly I don't like those words, because they have the connotation that you are acting that way to get something.

Nice.

Ginger snaps and milk are nice. Good weather is nice. When the DMV clerk smiles at you, that's nice. But I am a complex, intriguing, fascinating, multi-layered, multi-dimensional, in charge of my life full-grown woman. Which means sometimes I have to say and do things that bring forth the "B" label from people who disrespect me. That's the breaks.

I don't like the "B" word in general, but it can be appropriate under very strict and private circumstances
