First, a fallacy. Intellectual and neurotic are not one and the same. And it's quite possible to be interesting without having a head full of snakes.

Instead, neurotic is just that -- neurotic. Once you've lived awhile, you realize that people who are neurotic carry no reward in the relationship. All you do is prop them up.
