It's been an ongoing trend of teen girls and younger women wanting to get with men over 30. They would lie about their age to get with older men and some men believe them.

Why do teen girls and younger women lie about their ages so much? Don't men ever realize how old they look or they just don't care?

Stupidity?

Though, as far as the guys believing them, when I was 16 people always thought that I was in my mid-twenties. I can't tell you how many times people asked me about when I'm getting married (I had a light amethyst ring on my left hand) or where I went to college. I even had a group of 20-something guys hit on me in front of my parents while on vacation because they thought I was 22 (my mother asked them how old they thought I was--when they found out they backed off, but found it hilarious). Oddly enough, now that I am in my 20s I've had people ask me if I'm still in high school. Two or three years ago my friends and I nearly got kicked out of a museum exhibit because anyone under 15 had to be accompanied by an adult......we were 22...

I don't know, but it nearly happened with me when I was 22. I was with some friends at a bar shooting pool when these girls came up to say hello. One took an interest in me, one thing led to another, and she was wanting to go back to my apartment a couple of blocks away. We get back to my place, and I start asking her about school. At that point, she confessed that she wasn't really a junior in college, but she was a junior in high school, five years younger than me. YIKES.

I immediately walked her back to the bar and grabbed my friend, who was about to leave with the other girl. Let me just say that we dodged major bullets that night.

If some 18 yo wanted me to think she was 40 I think "don't care" wouldn't begin to cover it

Girls do it because they think they look cool for going out with an older guy. Or to get the upper hand in the relationship. Or to get cigarettes or alcohol.

I had a slutty friend when I was younger. She was 2 years younger than me and when we went out she would always hit on 18-23 year olds when she was 13-14. When they asked how old she was she'd say "old enough". If that's not a red flag, I don't know what is. Maybe she thought they would assume she was 18 without her having to lie. I dunno she was a slu*. All the girls in her group of friends/neighborhood (she lived a couple towns over from me) would go out with 18 year olds so they would buy them cigarettes. Pretty pathetic.

It's nothing new, teens have been lying about their age since time began. Lot's of them do it to get into clubs, drink, be with an older man or woman, get a job or into the military etc.
