I think what he ment was there are women having babies with 60 y/o men.
Either way, it's dangerous for 60 year old women AND 60 year old men to have babies. The sperm is old by that time too and there are more genetic defects. Same with a woman that age - the incidence of Down Syndrone is astronomically high in women over 45.
Nature never intended for babies to be born to such old parents.

GROSS!!! My sister is 25 and she is engaged to a 54 year old man. It's disgusting! But whatever floats your boat right?!
I hope someone has discussed what her life will most likely look like in 10 years? Worse yet, when she's in her prime in 20 years?
As long as she has a realistic understanding of what she is signing up for I say congrats. If she doesn't, work on that with her before she walks down the aisle!

You know? I realize it's really mean of me, but when I see stories like this, I keep remembering that priceless scene from Sheridan's The School for Scandal, in which a rich old man is berating his young trophy wife for her overly flirtatious (by standards of the time) behavior. It comes to a point where the husband is beating himself in the chest, saying (paraphrasing): "I gave you wealth and status! I put you up in a nice house with lots of servants and every comfort imaginable! Is there anything I haven't done for you??" To which the wife replies: "Make me a widow?"
