I secretly crave pizza.

It's not a terribly well-kept secret...

Hell, you've just described every person on the planet who has ever been married or ever had kids. It has nothing to do with one's degree of happiness with marital life. It's just human nature.

I mean, until the last couple of years, Mrs. CPG would occasionally drag the kids over to her parents house for a long weekend. Three or four times a year, I'd sleep as late as I wanted, eat all the stuff my wife thinks is gross (Underwood Deviled Ham, for example), and watch baseball until my eyes bleed.

God I miss those weekends.

I don't think anyone could be in a long term relationship and not feel that way at some point. I think it's human nature.

It's part of the give and take of a relationship... heck, life actually is full of give and take. Plain and simple.

I make no secret about it and when I feel like I need some solitude I just leave for a weekend.

Just because I'm married and have kids doesn't mean I don't deserve any alone time. I have friends that never get any time to themselves that want/need. They either don't feel they deserve it or don't want to ask for it because they'd feel guilty.

Heck I got over that a LONG time ago! When I feel like I need space I take a break from life.
