sex change operations exist because it is the only known way to treat it.

Heck no! I would only befriend them - nothing more.

Would I have to listen to show tunes or Judy Garland records?

Transsexuals aren't always "straight". Sex, gender, and sexual orientation are three separate things. I'm a biological male (sex), a part-time cross-dresser (gender expression), and I'm straight (sexual orientation). I know a pre-op transsexual who was born male (sex), but is transitioning to a female (sex) as she feels her altered body will match her inner identity (gender). She's bisexual. There's so much variety out there in terms of gender expression and orientation. It's not always so black and white. It's more of a spectrum, which is kind of nice.

Would I date a transsexual? Perhaps. I'm more attracted to biological women, but I'm also open to experiencing more though the male sex does not attract me at all.

Yes. I've found I am actually strongly attracted to male transgenderd people. I've had a few chances with a few of them, but as I see now online it seems like maybe most male to female are gay? Unfortunetly that is what I seem to see.
As for female to male. I cant say I've ever even been friends with one. But I think it depends on what kind of person they are for either gender..

I would. The only requirement for me is that they be passable enough or commit to working towards that at least.

Almost dated a tranny while on vacation in Thailand until I heard him speak.

Nope, rather date a real woman. I don't mean "real" as a "fat one" like the other thread implies .
