I would like to know specifically what is the difference Between a friend and a lover because we live in the 20Th century and there is no clear distinction between friendship and Love. With friends you can even have sex out of them (nowadays). Friend and lover you call them to do stuff together, You get jealous when other people get the attention of your Lover or friend, you can both give and receive gift from them, you Disclose to them and finally but not the least If you love too much you End UP in The friend list (thought we were lovers)??

(Thought it would make a great thread to help people)

So any thoughts on the issue??

Lovers can be friends and vice versa. But there is usually a pretty solid way to describe the overall relationship. I take "lovers" to mean two people who are repeatedly having sex.

I think it is a pretty fine line. They say your spouse should also be your best friend but what if they are but nothing more? What if there is no physical chemistry at all?

Should you remain in the relationship because they are your best friend or leave it for someone more physically attractive but who will never be your best friend?

There is a difference. But then again, love is relative to context.

Love can relate to parental love, sibling love, friendship love or romantic love.

How a person loves a parent or a friend is different to their SO (wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, etc.)

Love involves sexual chemistry; friendship doesn't.

Friend is a broad term that can be applied to anybody from a spouse to an acquaintance and could include a lover.

Lover connotates a sexual relationship or amorous affection.
