The older I get, the more I laugh at the world. My perspective shifts, and what was imporant to me 10 years ago, is a distant memory now. Not only do I not sweat the small stuff, I don't panic over the onset of the big stuff. I've learned the difference between happiness and pleasure. I've learned to accept change, which is inevitable, and fighting it will make you insane. Balance is the key, when you can obtain balance in your life, you'll find contentment.

Good for you, just don't end up like this guy:

Not attracted to my wife, get divorced?

Moral of the story is looks still matter.

On Gettin Older

Aint the snow falling just
a bit deeper these days?
Aint they building the stairs
a bit steeper these days?
And the town has really changed
in so many ways.
Time. Just time.

Now the jokes arent half as witty
as the old jokes once were.
The girls aint half as pretty
as I remember her.
And today in the park a grown man called me "sir!'
Time. Just time.

The kids now are growing
exceptionally tall.
And newspaper print is
becoming so small.
And folks talk so soft that
you can barely hear at all.
Time. Just time.

I'm not so anxious now
for fame or success.
My eye finds the girl in
the plain, simple dress.
And I cling a bit longer
to each warm caress.
Time. Just time.

So it takes a bit longer
to walk up a hill.
What of it?
My life now
is much more fulfilled.
But they're tearing down buildings
that I watched them build!

Time. Its just time!

Bobby Bare

^^ That's it right there!!

I have noticed that as I get older, time seems to FLY by for some reason.

I am a firm believer the less drama and stress in ones life, the better and it has proven to work well for me. I just want to be happy.

The older I get my contact lens prescription keeps getting stronger.....

I agree with the OP, material things seem to have less of a value for me. Don't get me wrong, I like nice things too, I just don't jones for them.

I work with a lot of guys in their 20s and some of the crap that is important to them.....

Oh well, I was there once.
