I try to check the pockets before I do the wash, but sometimes I forget. I always tell him to check them tho cuz I don't check every time. That way if I ruin something it's on him.

It's just digging for dirt (and other stuff in the pockets) this time round.

I'm gonna have to side with her, dude. You should've checked your pockets.
I don't think it's a big deal though, sometimes you just forget to do that. It's certainly not worth getting into a big fight over. She overreacted.

My hubby and I have had wars over this. He would leave his wallet in his pants, I would wash it.
He would be an idiot about it. So.....I learned. When it happens and he asks have I seen his wallet, there is just one answer. NO.
I keep the money, as much as $700 once and burn the rest.
He can't yell. Wasn't my fault he lost it. He gets to replace his driver's licence and credit cards. BTW, washing them never hurt them.
I have noticed he is much more careful.
Yes, they can be trained.

When I still lived at home I did the laundry and it was well known that whatever fell out in the wash or dryer was mine. My dad lost a few hundred on several occasions in that deal.
If you took your clothes to the dry cleaners, or laundry service, would you check your pockets then?
