I'm seriously considering giving the whole pole dancing thing a shot. It looks lke a really fun way to exercise.
Same here! I can't seem to get myself to exercise on a regular basis and need more motivation! Besides, learning how to slide down a pole is not only extremely hot, but can boost one's self-confidence in a way.

That's a good point. It makes exercising even more fun.

I'm probably going to end up buying an at-home pole exercising kit, though. That way, I can do it at the house whenever the mood strikes me.

You girls seem like you need to be "owned" by somebody. Then you have to ask "permission" to do something out of the ordinary. When are you going to get it in your head that you are your own person and can do what you want without asking permission. I try to get my wife out of that habit of asking permission and I encourage her to do unusual things.

Next time you feel like you need to ask permission, just do it and then tell him. If he gripes, tell him to leave and don't let the door hit you in the @ss on the way out.

I usually just jog and do around 2,000 crunches per day, so pole dancing as an exercise would definitely mix things up for me.

Yea. It's really nothing. I love ab workouts and I've been doing it for so long that it's second nature by now. The one type of exercise I can't stand, though, is walking on the treadmill.

For you ladies buying poles for home-use - if you buy the kind with a weighted base, just realize that you can't do quite the same type of moves that a fully-installed / top-and-bottom-secured pole allows.

For those with the "pro" pole - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IT INSTALLED PROPERLY! Just Google "pole dancing disasters" to see what happens when you don't. The risk of serious injury is too great to skimp in this area.

You know I happened to see a video of a wedding celebration that was being held in a very large tent and people were dancing. The tent was held up by a number of fairly large poles and at one point a woman who was dancing spun around on a pole and the base of the pole became dislodged and the entire tent was knocked down. Of course the person taking the video was also knocked down but kept filming and there appeared to be some minor injuries including the bride who was very upset and her nose was bleeding. I think you make a good point, you'd have to get some equipment that was heavy duty and made for that purpose.

We were talking about exercise and this type of class came up. He just smiled and grabbed me. Get yourself one of those boyfriends. No one needs another father.
