ok, I met this guy online about a week ago. we emailed every day to every other day. I gave him my number , agreed to a date about a week from now and he is texting a lot! Making me nervous. We texted this morning and then by lunch time, I told him I was out with somone (not another guy) and figured that would be it. so an hour later he says so hows your day been going? Im like fine, why don't you call me / text me as we get closer to date day so we can make a plan. (Meaning i texted w/ u all morning, Im not continuing.) so he calls me a few hours later and we talk about where we might lunch but I tell him i have to go , doing something (I have company) I told him call me the day of or the day before our date to firm up plans. So he texts me 2 hours later- how is your evening? This is too much , right? Anyone with experience in this area I would appreciate a response, kind of creeped out.......thank you

Your gut is talking. Please listen to it.

If you're really creeped out, you might want to change your mind about the date. You can always tell him you decided to get back together with an old boyfriend. That would be the safest thing, because clingy types tend to back away if they think another man is in the picture. This is one situation where it's okay to lie if you feel your safety is at stake.

That's way too much contact for a guy you haven't even been out on your first date with. He needs to take a step (or 2) back. You should tell him straight up, as nice as possible, that he is coming on too strong. Tell him you are crazy busy and that you will talk to him on your date. If he doesn't respect that then don't go on the date.

Wow, and here I thought I was somewhat paranoid! Not that I'm into texting at all, but maybe he's just a decent caring person! What a novelty! Besides, she did go along with it, so expecting the communication to continue is not that big of a stretch.

He's just a heavy texter. Some people enjoy the slow-text back-and-forth all day thing. This series of texts means nothing; stop creating drama in your own head.
