Cheating - how can you do it?
I often wonder how many people in this world still have a conscience left.
If I even so much as accidentally brush lips with a male friend as I am kissing him hello, I feel sick with guilt for a week!
People who have been unfaithful I am not judging you or being all high and mighty so please don't take it that way, and I am sure you felt horrible about your decision, but I have always wanted to understand... how? Screw heat of the moment, doesn't something in your head shout out STOP?

I can't understand cheating either but my guess is they're purely selfish.. thinking of nothing but themselves. There is no excuse for cheating but it's happening every day on a constant basis.

There are many different reasons why people cheat. Some people cheat because of the "heat of the moment". Some people cheat because they enjoy the thrill of doing something illicit. Some people cheat because they want sexual variety. Some people cheat because they are stuck in loveless or sexless marriages. This is not to say that any of these reasons are valid, but there is a variety in people's feelings on the subject. Have you NEVER deliberately done something that was morally wrong? If you have, just recall the justifications that enabled you to go through with it.

There's one similarity between all those given reasons of why some people cheat..... they're all nothing but excuses. All they did is put themselves first in line and never really cared about you or they would have thought about it or at least break up or leave you.
I think the only somewhat valid reason for cheating would be if it was done out of revenge. In this case, person B cheats because person A cheated first.

Oh, please. Like if you cheat out of revenge you aren't thinking of yourself first. What do you call this revenge-****ing, a public service?

I have had countless opportunities to cheat during my 9 year relationship, but no matter how bad things get between us I just couldn't live with myself if I did it. I've always believed that if you want to fk around, break off your relationship first. You can't have both... or at least, you shouldn't!

In that case you're just giving them the same treatment they gave you.... a taste of their own medicine.
