Default How did you get to CD forum and consequently to the religion forum?

This thread is kind of a spin-off thread from Montana's about the forum and the regular "posters." Another "just for fun" -thread I was just wondering how you all found CD and all? Why do you post most regularly in the religion forum or do you post in other forums as well?

For me, our music pastor and his family were moving to Tyler, Texas. So I googled Tyler and found CD. Then I think I noticed something about my hometown on a forum and went there. At some point, I realized that people were actually discussing other things on this forum ...and the rest is history!

My old man and I are looking to move to Utah, possibly, so that's how I found the website, but I mentioned I was a Jehovah's Witness on one of the state forums and I started getting all the private messages asking me questions about my beliefs. I figured I'd better come to the Religion forum and set up a thread.

I mentioned before that I was looking for information about Tennessee because I'm going to move there. Then since I know alot about Montana I started posting there quite a bit. I hadn't even noticed that there were other categories besides the states until one day I noticed a little note that a Religion Forum had been created. Of course, being the trouble maker that I am, I immediately started posting. Now I've become a little bit of an addict although I've talked to some interesting people.

I have looked at CD for years for specific info on cities and towns...but was unaware until April that they had forums for blogging. I started out in the Michigan forums, since that's where I live now, and then started checking out CA (born and raised) and OK (lived there for years). For some reason I never noticed the non-city and state related forums until about a month ago. I then checked out the 1st one that caught my eye---RELIGION. The rest is history.

I also randomly check out other forums to simply learn about things, people, ideas...I find it fascinating to check out the Canada forum, for some reason. Mostly though, you will find my posts in Religion and Michigan, with a slightly smaller amount in OK and CA.

I would also add that somehow I managed to be controversial even in posting about cities! I managed to upset some folks with my very first post...and it wasn't even about religion! Imagine that!

I tried to avoid the "controversial threads" for awhile but then one day I decided to just "dip my toe" in on a partial-birth abortion thread! (Abortion is my personal "hot button topic.") Whoa! I quickly learned there was no "just dipping your toe in" on a topic like that! I was soon over my head!

I post on several of the threads including my local Dallas forum and my hometown Lubbock forum. I also post on relationships, parenting, health and occasionally Politics, but mostly these days I stay over here with you guys!
(Besides, I have to watch Jeff every minute!)

One thread I will no longer post to is any thread about homosexuality! I have personally authorized Alpha to come down to Texas and just shoot me if I ever post on one of those type threads again!

I must have been searching something about Ky and got cd. I went to the Ky Forum about the time it was being trolled about Pikeville by a particular person who was getting favorable responses about this part of Ky. I just had nto step in and defend the good people who choose to live here in the mountains. I didn't realize what a troll was and was trying to be nice to him...I pretty much stay out of that forum now and only post when East Ky is being put down In a few days I found this forum and the rest is a story of my addiction

Oh, kay, I've been so tempted to post on the hot topic forums mentioned above...but I don't dare! I just know I'll get in trouble! I think the Religion forum along with mod duties is enough for me!

We actually were moving from Nashville (WONDERFUL CITY, we miss it, I can also pass on info on Nashville if you need it) to San ANtono, Texas in January. My husband found the site. We have been addicted to it eversince. I only recently discovered all the other forums. It has been fascinating to read some of these posts.

Welllllllll.....I actually came here because I'm an architecture buff, and I love skyscrapers. I was looking around on the internet for various pictures of cities, and City-Data happened to come up, and I had remembered visiting here before. I'd never signed up for the forums, because I was genuinely trying to keep myself off internet message boards because I find them to be a bit addictive. But I was in the midst of trying to get some information about different cities I'd like to move to (I'm getting SO tired of Cincinnati), so I signed up to ask some questions about places out west.

Well, for a while, I pretty much kept my browsing to the different cities' forums, but then after I'd found out all I wanted to know, I got bored. So I decided to see what other forums were on here, and while looking for some games, I also noticed the religion forum. I KNEW I shouldn't get myself involved, but I decided to chime in on a few posts anyway. From there on, it pretty much continued to where I am now. And in some ways, I really regret it. But in other ways, I'm sorta glad.
