I have Amnesia
Hypothetical question to ponder. I have amnesia and prior to being inflicted, I was a strong Christian man of God, a true believer who had accepted Christ into his heart.
Now I have amnesia and have no recollection of who I am, my roots anything. Am I still saved? And since I don't have these recollections I don't attend church but become active in the world's scene, having fun and not caring about tomorrow.
But this lifestyle is all due to the amnesia, because before this like I said, I had accepted Christ into my heart. Any ideas on where I'm headed when I die? Remember, this is hypothetical and has not happened to me or anyone I know.

The "First" you is going to the "Promised Land." Part II of you is going to Terre Haute......There, you could mend your ways ( AIN'T MUCH HAPPENIN' THERE). iIn Terre Haute you would find the Lord again and forget the wild and crazy guy you had become.
Now a moment of seriousness: You were saved the first time. If such an event were to happen...hey It wasn't your fault you toook a shot the craw...God would understand....He's good like that. Good post Hoosier. Refreshing !!!!Yet thought provoking nonetheless.

My belief on this is that people who are truly saved are always saved, no matter what.
Now some people have some feel good moment, and say they are saved but they never really lay down any Christian roots, and they let their "Christianity" wither away into nothingness, I believe that those people were never saved to being with. (I was like that for over a decade, before I became a real Christian.)
If you were truly saved to begin with no one or thing is strong enough to steal you away from Christ.
But if you were just saying that you were a Christian (like many "Christians" I know) you were never his to begin with.

I would hope you are still saved. I don't know the answer though. I worked as an activity director in a nursing home a few years ago. There was a man in the nursing home who had been a minister his whole life. He was a very well respected man of his church and loved dearly. It was sad to watch because as he lost some control he walked around the nursing home with his head down as in prayer and would cuss. In the end he would say Amen. I can't help but think this man did so many good things and lived such a beautiful life. I would hope he still would meet his maker and live among the angels.

I would say yes, once saved always saved. It isn't a person's fault if he or she is stricken with amnesia. God knows what happened, and He will not take away salvation because of it. I think this would be similar to someone having Alzheimer's disease.

You already know the answer. If you have strong religious convictions and thn suffer from complete amnesia, then you are mentally back in your infancy. You would have to again learn religious scripture and teaching. You would be void of any guilt, or worry about going to hell.. that is until the Christians get hold of you
You would know the joy of being atheistic in your thoughts, free from bigotry, and able to come to rational conclusions without the need to consult a scripture written thousands of years ago by people who didn't know the laws of physics, or even that the world was round.
Would you be saved?? I think you know the answer to that question.

If our Creator God could not hold onto someone, simply because of amnesia, then he wouldn't be much of a God, in my opinon.
