And I agree Britt--I HATE going to Wally World for those reasons too.

I agree with both of you!! Im so outnumbered in my house though, three girls vs. me-the only time i like to really look(shop) is at bass pro shops, music stores, and then like Jeff said--its about having money-lol. So I dont stay that long.
Idk about the check thing..i hardly ever write checks, for anything, car payments house, is debited out of my account, cell bill etc. If i was gonna write a check...I would have it at least started BEFORE i made the poor checkout guy/girl bag all my groceries while i was standing there watching them picking my nose...sorry my first real JOB was at a supermarket

You've seen them, business cards with Jesus fish on them
I went to a bridal show where a travel agent had a "Christian Fish" on her business card. When I asked about it, she reacted like I'd just asked the rudest question imaginable.
"Christian" businesses are just another gimmick. Didn't jesus go bonkers in the Temple because the merchants were trying to mix religion and commerce? Besides, I'm not paying for a sermon.

Anytime I see a business advertizing itself as Christian, I figure that they are using it as an advertising ploy. That really gets my back up. The only time I would even go through the door is if they had something that I couldn't get elsewhere.
I am reminded of the old saying. "Anytime you hear a man loudly proclaiming that he is a Christian, Lock up the women and hide the silver."

I think they can be a gimmick, as I posted. But there are some legitimate ones out there.

Since they only allow 4 choices, you can fill in your own "other" if none apply.
(Apologies in advance if this poll has been discussed before)
Thanks

Why would a merchant want to give his customers an opportunity to prejudge? Unless your shop is sitting in some deeply religious community where all minds think alike, announcing your shop is Christian owned will not benefit your business.

That pretty well sums it up for me, also. I'm looking for the best deal I can, since I only have a limited amount of funds to use. And frankly, I despise it, when folks use a Christian logo on their ads. They are using God to draw in business, for their own benefit. Shouldn't the way they conduct themselves, personally, and in a business sense, be the draw for customers? People shouldn't use their Christianity for business purposes!

The business I work for, advertises under the Christian directory..however not everyone here is a Christian, the owner is, I am, a few others, about half and half. I sometimes wonder when someone new comes in, maybe from seeing the ad, and hears some of the things/stuff being said, if we shuddint pull the ad.

I onced hired a contractor who's company name was GLB. When I inquired what it stood for he stated, God's Little Business.
Naive that I was I thought, "oh good a Christian, surely he will be fair and ethical." Well, very long story short I had so many problems with him, and I payed him before the job was complete (big rookie mistake).
Needless to say I had major problems with him, and during our last conversation I mentioned to him how him using that name was a good ploy to use on suckers like me! So in short, I would like to give my business to Christians but really don't have the time to do "reserach" so I go by custumer service and word of mouth.
