It is wholly inappropriate. It's like someone giving a copy of some white power book to all their clients at closing because that might be someone's beliefs. It's presumptuous and wholly unprofessional to give out personal, philosophical beliefs to clients. Some Christians need to get over themselves already and accept that not everybody wants to be like them.

I am over myself, and I don't want anyone to be like me. God help them if they are like me, that's certainly not my intent. And I haven't missed a house payment yet so......

Well, since I give them at closing, it'd be a little late for that. I also write in each book for my clients, to personalize them. most, if not all, of my business is repeat and referral and, like I said, I'm still listing and selling so.......

Alpha! Don't point out the hole in my argument when I'm on your side for once!

I think it is a nice touch, and considering the book that you give is a HUGE bestseller, it must not be that offensive to most people.

Well it doesn't hurt either when I'm helping someone into their dream home or sliding a nice fat profit across the table to them...I often wonder if they think 'Is there something to this?'

That's certainly what I hope.

And I actually have past clients that call me on the phone for advice and biblical questions, so if nothing else it turns our business relationship into a friendship as well...which helps explain the referrals and repeats, ya know?

And the only reason I pointed out your 'hole' Jeff, was to be fair. emjbulls, is entitled to his/her opinion and I respect that. I just hope if someone ever is offended or anything, they'd just slide the book back across the table and say 'No thanks'.

No one ever has.

I think some non-Christians need to get over themselves as well and realize that some people do want to learn and become Christian. Luckily we live in a free market society. If you don't like the person you are doing business with, you are entirely free to do business with someone else.

Hey, Rick Warren is on Starbucks cups now and does a monthly feature for Ladies Home Journal magazine! If they can do that, Alpha can give someone a book of his!

I think it's a nice touch, personally. But hey, then again we know what a fanatic kaykay is!

Just curious, Alpha, (and maybe I just missed this in your previous posts, so forgive me, if I'm making you repeat yourself), but do you give the book to each of your clients, or just the ones you believe would be interested? I remember the first place my husband and I bought, the realtor bought us a couple of steaks and a bottle of champagne. So, if you mean the book to be a gift, with no "in your face" preaching, then I don't see why anyone should be offended by it. I actually have a copy of it, myself, from my step-daughter, but I do have to admit, I still haven't read it.
