I looked up that verse on BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 50 versions and 35 languages. and wow Alpha, that says a lot about you and your character! I say that as I've read so many of your posts and we've pm'd and you're an amazing guy. Knew that before, but choosing that scripture reference is you!
1 Tim 1:15-17
15Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

That's fine if people want to learn about it. But don't assume people do if they don't bring it up. Whether Christians want to admit it or not, there are people of other faiths in this country. A little tolerance and noses out of people's business shouldn't be too much to ask.

I say this because these would be some of the the primary goals in MOST TRUE Christian businesses. Of course there would be deceptive business men that would claim Christian values while actually operating under a secular one. You shall know them by their fruits.

I don't always try to patronize Christian-owned/operated businesses. To me, it's usually a combination of convenience and low prices. Also, sometimes I can find Christian books and music at places such as Target for lower prices than at Christian bookstores. Thankfully, here in the U.S., we have the freedom to choose where we shop!

I have not had a chance to read through each post but wanted to share that I do patronize some christian business's particularly if it is someone I go to church with. I just like helping others whom I go to church with. For instance, I had some girls babysit for me, help me do laundry also used a handy man from church as well as the ac man.
I have been ripped off royally by companies and individuials and really try to be careful who I let in to my home. I can also patronize anyone with a good reputation with word of mouth and they don't have to be in church. I often use a source online too where people share experiences to get good people to come out. I can remember this preacher who led this bible study down in Florida talk about how he hated the sheperds guide and found them a piece of crock and condemmed anyone who would use that source or just a christan business. I found him too boistrous and too opionated. Sometimes we might not have the resources or people around to help you make a decision and if they are in the Sherperds Guide, I think it is good to give them a try.

As some of you know, I own a carpet cleaning business. While we rely HEAVILY on advertising, we have NEVER "advertised" our Christianity! Like Pablobee said, it should be seen "through our fruits", not in our advertising .
I am in total agreement with Alpha on handing out the book, that being done with his clients...not in his advertising .

I am totally on customer service. It just happens that the best mechanic around my parts has Christian signs up throughout his lobby.

Thanks Hoosier, you just have no idea how applicable that set of scriptures is for me. I just appreciate the sacrifice that was made for me.....and you!

If I am looking for a company that has nothing to do with religion and they go out of their way to publish their religion then I avoid them...
For example, I won't eat at Chik Fil A, they go out of their way to point out their religion and they are a restuarant.
If I were to go into a christian bookstore then of course that kind of advertising would be understood.

See I think Chic-fil-a is a fantastic example. It's the ONLY fast food place I know of that has the consistent crowds you see there. Being closed on Sundays and there Christian basis isn't hurting them AT ALL.....actually....with you as the exception, they appear to be rather blessed....
