What's ETERNITY like?....
Ever wonder that? Life is short compared to 'forever'. As I Christian I believe in heaven and I believe there's a hell. So have you ever wondered what will it be like to just be suspended in forever? It's hard to grasp it but honestly, I used to think about this alot as a kid but I think it's something alot of people wonder about. Any thoughts?

I can't even begin to imagine...Oh...busting out a song...(Mercy Me)
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

Multiply waiting for the doctor/dentist/plumber by 10 zillion times and you will have an idea of what a tiny piece of eternity is.
I don't understand the desire for eternity, no matter how or what it is. I think I much rather would rather just cease to exist.

We can only daydream about what eternity will be. I think our human minds just don't have the capacity to comprehend the beauty and joy that awaits us..Sometimes after a long stressful day it calms me to imagine heaven as the most serene, quiet, beautiful outdoor spot that I can imagine and the peacefulness and joy it brings me..The warnth of the sun, white clouds against the big beautiful sky, green grass, wildflowers, trees and feeling the presence and joy of being with the Lord and feeling this contentment ten times greater than in this life. It is a pleasant way to drift into sleep

and how many days of that before you're bored out of your mind?
Everything is mostly defined by what contrasts it. After some intense time at work, a relaxing day off or vacation is really special. A meal can seem so much better if you're either very hungry or you haven't had that dish in a very long time or you're so accustomed to mediocre or bad food that this meal is really spectacular. The person who eats that meal everyday probably thinks much less of it. Workers in Colonial times in NE protested because they were given nothing but lobster to eat all the time. Seems hard to imagine complaining about lobster all the time but I guess even that you could grow tired of.
The human mind needs contrasts and variety. Even if we don't partake of contrasts, we often define ourselves and things by being not something else. So I would think an eternity of the same would be a monotony that would be unbearable and to say you would not find it so would deny an innate human characteristic, which is either naive or suggests that you'd be different than you are now. If you'd be completely different in this afterlife, then you'd not be you and therefore, not actually exist in this afterlife. You would die and something else would then exist.

1 Corinthians 2: 9 "No eye has, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him".
Knowing the wonderful and eternal future that awaits Christians gives us hope and courage to press on this life, to endure hardships. This world is not all there is, the best is yet to come.

You mean believing there's a wonderful and eternal future that awaits Christians... etc.
Hardships are what you make of them, like the old adage of "if life gives you lemons, etc". As I said elsewhere, if you view life as something that must be endured, I think it would be better to do something about your life rather than merely holding out hope for the big cosmic cookie after death.

Yes that is what I believe because it is what the Bible teaches and I believe it is God's Word and the truth. And I am trying to make my life on earth count too.
