I feel we should constantly be aware that we can do more for the lord and less for ourselves even as the christians that many of us are. Yes, the "end of days" is nearing.
The end of days is more evident by the growing one world order. God tells us through His word that the anti-Christ will declare a one world government. The foundations for such a thing is already here, with the United Nations, World Bank, etc. All of these things will - I predict within the next 50 years - end up as a global authority, in the guise of "global prosperity." No nation, even during the reign of the anti-Christ, will give up national independence, so it will just be a "higher standard," if you will, much like the federal supreme court is in America - a government body with the power to overturn individual state court decisions.
Another thing to keep your eye on is the debit/credit cards. Right now there are commercials advertising "prepaid no hassle VISA debt cards," which you can find at Walgreens and WalMart. This is leading up to a cashless society, something the anti-christ will need to control money. Bush in 2005 also passed the Real ID Act which will link every ID and DL to a national system. As of now, you will only need it to enter federal buildings, but they also said you would never have to use a SS card to identify yourself with. Now you can't do anything - become employed, open bank account, apply for services, without your SS card.
Like I said, everything is in the framework to create a WWO. You should also google North American Union or Lou Dobbs on YouTube.com. The EU has a single currency, and if the NAU comes to reality, the Amero will follow. These universal monies will lead to the eventual global merger of one single currency, citing "financial ease in the production, transfer and exchange" benefits of a one world currency.
Even non-Christians should take caution of all this. Even if the Bible is wrong about the anti-Christ, rapture, etc., our rights are being taken away each day. The more we allow "ease" in our lives for "security" and "less time consuming" attitudes, the more we are allowing the government to control our lives. Do you think it is for no reason why we are becoming a society of rich and poor, dependent on health inventions to cure our fatness, and a society where 1 in 4 people watch more news about Paris Hilton than they read? This is also a goal of our elite in the world - to create a society to unaware, so oblivious that we DON'T know about these things. It's also no surprise that SAT scores are at the lowest point in history, uneducated people don't vote, nor do they see any reason to. That means no challenge to power.
I'm shocked when most people question this, but most people don't even know that the American people can organize - without government consent - an election which would essentially impeach every lawmaker in question. The Founders created a way for American citizens to rip the power from under the elite. Of course, it is also no surprise most American's don't know this, except for our grandparents.
However, to not be fearful of this. Jesus will "rescue" His church.
