The situation w/Abraham was before the 10 commandments were given, just a footnote. God bless.

So, let me get this straight... before Moses came down from Mt. Sinai with the Ten Commandments the wandering Jews had no notion of good and evil? They didn't know they shouldn't murder, rape, covet, etc?? And so wouldn't that contradict quite a bit of the Adam and Eve story?

Does that mean that before God gave Moses the Ten Commandments you could rape, pillage and murder all you wanted?

But by showing God that he was willing to obey him means that he was also showing God that he was willing to break one of the Ten Commandments. How can that positive?

Who made the ten commandments? Take care and God bless.

Why would God require you to die for him?
Why would require you to kill for Him?

I have no problem with executing evil people, but I do this more for society than for God.
I have no problem with sacrificing myself for a good and worthy cause, but I doubt if this is for God.
