Default Would you kill for God?

People often say that they would be willing to die for their beliefs... and many have, through centuries of brutal oppression of religious freedom.

While I doubt that most people would be willing to die for their god these days, I wonder who would be willing to kill for god.

What if god commanded you to kill your first born?

What if god commanded you to kill your neighbor, to punish him for his wickedness?

If you knew of someone who's ideas were so dangerous, that it would drive thousands of souls away from god - would you be morally right in killing them?

Would you sacrifice your own immortal soul to save the soul of others?

If only we only did what God said directly to us, no wrong would be done in his name, as an Atheist it looks odd to me that so many people believe someone else has heard the word of God and his instructions are..........

If that person who's ideas were so dangerous that it would drive thousands of souls to kill other thousands of innocent souls (Hitler comes to mind).. then I think I'd be morally right in killing him/her (Hitler comes to mind).

If God is telling someone to kill someone simply because of their beliefs.. they might want to speak to someone..

Genesis 22
‘Abraham!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’ He said, ‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’

God DID command his loyal servant abraham to murder his son.

Somebody who doesn't understand the Bible would say the same thing. God told Abraham to stop right before he was ready to run the knife into Isaac so the actual sacrifice never took place. The only reason God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac is to test his obedience.

Definitely not. Receiving and maintaining my own soul's salvation is my first priority, and then I can help save others' souls.

God told Abraham to kill Issac.
The fact that he told him 'just kidding!' at the last second doesn't mean he didn't tell him to murder his son.

'your honor, I was only joking when I hired that hitman to kill my wife!'

"Would you sacrifice your own immortal soul to save the soul of others?"

I don't believe this is possible.
