Is it a sin to abuse animals?
What about torturing animals or mistreating them before they're butchered?
Should animals be treated well, another words, until they are killed for food?
What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks for your input.

 Well humans are animals too.
And in a sense we treat our animals as if they are human.
We dress them with clothes and stuff.
There are now dogtherapists and high quality petfood etc.
We can even buy them luxury stuff.
In sense this is all torture. It is an unhealthy relationship for the pet or farm animal.
They do not act naturally anymore.
Then again, neither do we humans

I assume that's a yes, it is a sin. I know this is a touchy subject.
Most people would rather not think about the conditions that animals suffer when they're headed off to market or in the slaughterhouse.
And don't think I'm an animal rights activist, but I do object to treating
animals cruelly before they die.
I'm almost certain it doesn't make God's day to see his animals abused.

But if we treat ourselves as products instead of human, how can you expect us humans to treat animals not as products?
I mean we pump them up with growth hormones and the like so we can make a better buck out of it.
I believe that humanity will do anything to increase his profit.
And most people choose to remain ignorant, because it makes them uncomfortable.

No, its wrong to abuse animals. Even if your not a vegiterian or a new ager, as a christian its wrong. When Adam was given responsibility to have dominion over all of Gods creation, he had to do the same as the Lord does with all His creation, with Love.

Of course its a sin to abuse animals, they are all God's creatures. They want to be loved just like a human wants to be loved. Some animals are meant for man to be eaten, but this does not mean we abuse and mistreat them until that time.

Of course. So why is there wide spread abuse at slaughterhouses and animals going to market?
Statics say that over 90% of the U.S. say they're Christians, so what
do they use as an excuse?
1) it's just a job; I'm not in charge here
2) they're going to die anyway
3) gotta feed my family. they're more important then dumb animals
4) how am I going to pay off my gambling debt if I don't stuff these dumb animals in the truck?
Are these the reasons, are there others?
How do they reconcile it with their consciences, since they say they're Christians?
How do non christians go ahead and think they'll skate on this one?
Thank you for answers

You have to do what you feel you should as a Christian ( a no-brainer?)
Whatever the word of God says, that's your answer.
