Deism is the belief that the world was created by a Supreme Being. This belief is arrived at by reason and nature. It also holds that the god is then indifferent to the happenings in the world.
Theism is the belief that he created it and continues to be involved, by supernatural means with happenings.
It can be compared to two offices. One, the boss is never seen. He seems to have nothing to do with the day to day operation of the business. He may not even come into the office.
In the second office, while he is never seen, he sends out memos and directives about running the business.
