The unity thread
Isn't unity a spirit quality?
Could it be possible that we are able to respect and accept each other beliefs or non beliefs instead of trying to prove which is right an which is wrong?
what are your thoughts?

From what I can see on this forum, it is possible for some and impossible for others.

I think we can (and should be) be respectful and loving to each other and realize at the end of the day, that everyone has the right to their own beliefs or non-beliefs. However, (you knew that was coming, right?) if there is one religion that is true and the others false, if it makes a difference what we believe or don't, then I think it behooves us to attempt to persuade others of those things. Now as a Christian, I don't consider all religions the same, and I contend that it does matter.

There is no ONE religion, simply because there are no ONE people; we are many different individuals.
 But love could be ONE.
Even when we do not love the same way.

It is a wonderful thing and a privilege to have been born in this country and to have freedom of speech where we can discuss our beliefs on the Religious Forum. This is a blessed country and the greatest country in the world ,who reaches out to help others in times of need.God Bless America!!!!!

I respect all of the beliefs posted in this forum. I don't go about trying to prove anyone wrong because I don't think it is possible. However, I will discuss what I believe, and I expect others to explain how they believe. It wouldn't be much of a forum if we just sat around agreeing on everything. I like to hear differing points of view so I get a broader understanding of the world. If all I hear is what I believe, I will end up narrow-minded and self-centered. Neither are good qualities.

I think people are willing to respect and accept each other beliefs or non-beliefs only to a certain extent - as long as their own are not questioned. I love religions, I respect and accept anyone with beliefs other then my own, however, when my faith gets disrespected, I will step in and defend it.

Faith itself cannot be respected or disrespected, because it has no feelings.
Only the parishioners of the religion can feel disrespected.

So far I haven't met much people that disrespect mine, but if that happened I'd just feel bad about them and wish them the best, that someday they would see the light and find in love what they are looking for. Regardless the religion they chose

There should be unity between Christian believers. However, that is not as easy as it sounds. Many folks have differing views on what they believe, but that should not be. As Christians we must believe, follow, and uphold the truths of the Bible, but sadly that's not always the case.
The Bible never asks true believers to "accept each other beliefs or non beliefs instead of trying to prove which is right an which is wrong?" We're never commanded to "accept" any other religion, belief, or doctrine other than what is taught in the Holy Scriptures. It would cease to be the sole exclusive truth then if we all did that. (which many today are attempting to do)
