Really? Because I never thought about it that way until other people started telling me about deities and all.

I live through events I know that I could not live without a higher power.
I guess it comes down to the fact billions of people had events that when it happen to them they could no longer deny the supernatural.

i remember hearing about a man on his dying bed after 80+ years of life, a firm belief that there is NO GOD. The hospital chaplain visited him and they got in a heated discussion about theology and the chaplain asked him to describe what he did believe in and the man said the beauty of nature, and the love of his children, and the joy in his daily routine, and the happiness of waking to a sunrise, things like that. And the chaplian smiled and said they believe in the same thing then they just call it different things. I always like that, what if god is equated to the goodness of life or the beauty of nature. It doesn't matter what it's called, is it, as long there is beauty in joy in life that is recognized and valued?

what, they don't believe in the same thing, the chaplain believe in a invisible person who does magic and kills people for no reason and the other believes in what you describe above.

Same with amputees.
With the extreme low percentage of prayers being answered, seems like it's all coincidence when it is.

What a great thread to start! Thank you. Here are some of my favorite miracles, or recognition of the holy in life through feelings and direct personal experience
1. Got a second mortgage on my home with a sizable check out of the blue after being turned down 3 times in a row.
2. Was told I had six months to live, that was about 10 years ago, and I am healthy as a horse ever since.
3. Hearing the Hebrew language in song and in prayer; hearing the Dineh' language in song and in prayer, moves me to tears of joy
4. Always landing on my feet after losing a job (this has happened 3 times)
I am not someone who came to my spirituality through "faith" or "religion" I pretty much rejected all that. But when things began happening in my own direct personal experience, I had to take notice and pay attention and that is when I began cultivating and using spiritual tools. It would be foolish not to use these tools to enhance the quality of my daily life, including my health, wealth, happiness, and well being. But it is only meaningful to a person if it comes through their own personal experience, not by anyone else forcing it on them or shoving it down their throat or trying to fix or change or save them.

Miracles don't happen. Coincidences do. There are too many inconsistencies to attribute fortunate situations to divine involvement.
Here's the link to a site with many quotes from various people, known and unknown, doubting the existence of god.

I understand everyone needs to do their own thing. All I'm saying is I can use all the help there is available in my corner, and if there is a "subject matter expert" with my best interests at heart who can deliver the goodies of life, then it makes sense to me to avail myself of that, I'd be a fool not to! Again it's not going to make sense to anyone unless it ties to their own experience, but that's what the OP was asking for. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone else, just ME!
