Default An atheist/agnostic Saying Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

While I'm personally don't believe any of the religious aspects of the holiday. I would like to say that I very much enjoy all other aspects of Christmas. This holiday if nothing promotes a general feeling of well being toward man for this one day.
I personally am going to celebrate the day with a christmas tree, gift giving, eating food that is really bad for me (especially the butter cookies.), and most importantly spending the day with the people I really care about.

So Merry Christmas and good cheer to all of you! And I hope the day is going to be as wonderful as mine will be.

Baystater.

merry CHRISTmas to you too. It's good to see the holiday spirit can still move you. I wish i could say the same for other people who seem to get so angry this time of year.

Amid the glow of my tree, June contemplates the spirit of all things calm and bright...

And a very Merry Christmas to you too! It's good to see someone that doesn't necessarily hold the Christian values not be afraid to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Happy Holidays to everyone!

I'll be celebrating Christmas eve in traditional Jewish fashion... Chinese food and a movie with my Atheist (and alone for the holidays) roommates.

Ha! This is a great thread indeed. Mary X-mas to you too!

As stated above, many people celebrate this season without any specific religious meaning behind it.

Do you think people spend hundreds of dollars in gifts just because they are celebrating the birth of a god on earth?

Thumbs up Atheists Have Fun Too!

We celebrate Winter Solstice at our house!! It's fun for the kids, and since we're not religious, it gives us a chance to talk about science and the many faiths / traditions of people around the world.

My family was not religious, but we always celebrated Christmas. We knew it was about the birth of Baby Jesus and we knew the whole Jesus story. Everybody knew this. It was part of our culture, but it had no special religious meaning for us.

We even had one of those manger sets with Mary, Joseph, the Baby, the Wise Men, and assorted animals, that we would put under the tree. There was nothing religious about it, it was just a Christmas decoration.

Saying "Merry Christmas" was just the traditional seasonal greeting, it never did have any religious significance to me.

I like to say it and I like people to say it to me.
