You know, we must remember way back when, to when we were young and so full of optimism and thought we could accomplish everything we set our minds to.
I do believe they have something on us with all that gusto and enthusiasm. Maybe we should try to find ours again. LOL..
Glad to know that tree is still er leaning. HA ....LOL

I just wanted to say "Merry Christmas, ya'll"
It's already been more special than I ever anticipated.
Hope everyone has some time to themselves, time for their family, and time for reflection on The Meaning of it all.
I love you guys, and wish you all the best!

Good morning and Merry Christmas everyone..I am just popping in to say that I will have the computer here in the kitchen on all day while I fix dinner..We are having a late one for us (3pm) because two of my girls had to work last night..No rest for hospital workers.. It is a nice sunny day here in Pikeville..No snow and temps expected in the fifties today..I can handle that Our celebration actually is taking took three days this year with some of thefamilys weird work hours and with them trying to meet other obligations.. ..My house is the main place to meet, wait on Santa and eat ..Three grandsons and their papaw are in the den arguing sports and waiting on dinner, two granddaughters are doing their teenage thing in the living room beneath the tree on their cell phones..My 14 pound cat "Zoe" is curled up on the desk by this computer and paws at my fingers now and then..That's just a glimpse of Christmas morning at Blues..I am thinking of all of you today and wishing you all the peace and joy of this day..

For whatever reason, one of my parents had always had this "tradition" of not putting the tree up until Christmas Eve. Everyone on that side of the family did the exact same thing, and I remember thinking it was so odd, as all my friend's families put their trees up waaaaay before we did...
However, now once I became a parent myself, it became an inherited tradition for me, as well...I sort of cherish that. It wasn't until I was an adult that I found out that it is a German tradition to not put the Christmas tree up until Christmas Eve. --But oddly enough, I don't think my family was actually aware of the fact that they were doing that due to any sort of ethnic/cultural tradition! --It was just something that more than likely filtered down through the generations; a "tradition" that was adhered to because that was how it was always done...Unknowlingly, a very ethnic tradition.
The tree comes down on New Year's Day.
Take gentle Christmas care.

The key word "Tradition", I get it, a childhood memory that runs deep and feels good to carry it on. Hope you ejnoy it and have a great day. Merry Christmas. Thanks for sharing.
