Barenda, you have answered your own question yourself! You said, "Near Death Experience." You were NOT dead! You may have been "Near Death" but not dead!
My mother also had just such an experience and so has my husband. Both of their experiences were awesome!
My mother's thyroid glands began to poison her system and her body began to shut down. She went into a coma for a couple of days and seemed to not be responding to anything the doctors did for her. They did not give us much hope. She had put off going to the doctor until it seemed to be too late! We all began to pray around her bed in the hospital and suddenly my mother opened her eyes and said, "Give me a pen and paper!" We were shocked at her sudden and strange recovery and request but we rushed around getting her what she asked for. Immediately she began to write down music notes and the words to two different songs! Beautiful songs! Later she told us that she had gone to a beautiful place where she felt the most wonderful peace and she felt love all around her! She had opened her eyes and felt that she was lying in a grassy field. She looked and saw a field of what at first looked like flowers but then she realized that the flowers were tiny winged creatures; angel like but small! Then she heard a voice say, "Lift her up!" and then she felt the tiny angel creatures lifting her up slowly until she was standing. She could also hear this music and what sounded like a multitude of voices singing these songs! Then the voice told her that she could not stay but she must go back and that she would not forget what she had seen and heard. My mother did not believe that what she saw was heaven that the Bible speaks of, but it was a place where she was spiritually, while she was being physically healed from dying. One of the songs that she wrote was titled, "I Will Arise and Go To My Father," She and I have sung this song in many churches all over our state and we've always gotten a GREAT response and many have come to Believe in the Lord Jesus during her testimony. Often we humans want to put everything in a certain order and we often try to put God our creator in a box - and usually we try to limit Him. But we can't limit God! He is Infinate! Our small minds are nothing in comparison to His limitless mind! What confounds us, what we CAN NOT explain, is just trivial every day things to our God! I have finally matured spiritually enough to just give up trying to explain Him! I know that I will NEVER stop learning of His Wonders and His Majesty! I have just thrown up my arms and let myself fully rely on Him! Believe me it was a hard lesson, but I have eternity to learn all of the things that I don't understand now and Jesus will then be my teacher! Until then I can TRUST IN HIS HOLY SPIRIT! God bless.
