If you died tonight would you be ready to go?
I feel that taking care of unfinished business should be done daily and nothing should be put off for tomorrow, as you never know when you will take your last breath.
Unfinished business consists of leaving nothing undone that is important, not necessarily business related, and always letting your loved ones and friends know that you care for them, or if you don't, trying to make up the best way you can. Forgiving those that have harmed you in any way and trying to be the best person you can be are also on my list of things to take care of every day.
How about you? Are you ready to die tonight?

Absolutely. If I dropped over dead right now, while typing this response, I know:
1) I will be in the presence of my Lord & Savior
2) My family knows I love them more than anything in this world
3) I have left nothing unsaid, nothing undone as regards my family and other relationships.
No need for closure after my departure.. just a warm "see you later"

We have been going through a real rough time lately and that is no oxcuse but I would definately not be ready. Good thoughts to think about!! It is so important to let our loved ones know constantly how much we love them.

I would be ready any time that it is my time to go and I know that my Creator will welcomed me among my ancestors.

I've given this some considerable thought, and it is not whether I am prepared but rather are my family and friends prepared. Hence, I have regularly sent updates regarding personal papers, and always end all my calls and communication with loving words--in case they are my last.

The above was just too cute to not "quote."
Off the top of my head I know that on a realistic level, I would be "ready to go" in as much as I would not have to worry that those I love know that I love them. My son knows I love him; my friends hopefully all know I love them. I know that I could die a "happy woman" knowing that I raised a truly good, decent, kind, intelligent and loving son.
On a purely emotional level would I be ready to go? No way. June isn't done yet. She still has too much passion and a mission to live her life than to roll over and play dead. (She also has too much unfinished paperwork on her desk that needs to be attended to first!!!) She still has ambitions, and dreams, and the where with all to try her darndest to make those things happen. I am too happy with life to even consider a departure tonight. It took too long to get here, and I am not done yet!
--Besides, who would look after little Misha? I would have to make sure he had a good home somewhere where there were rolling hills, a big lawn, (maybe a hot tub) and a warm climate such that he could live a long life...Maybe with his adoring uncle.
So no. I'm not ready.
I still have more beaches to dance across, more music to hear, more threads to moderate, more friends to make, more patients to meet, more love to give, more life to live...
And until then, I'm just gunna keep right on...
Taking gentle care.

Of course I would look after Misha but when I looked out at the rolling hills and big lawn they were covered with snow this morning! Of course Misha is used to snow since he lives in the far north in the land of polar bears and caribou.
