Florida May Issue Christian License Plates
MIAMI (AP) — Florida drivers can order more than 100 specialty license plates celebrating everything from manatees to the Miami Heat, but one now under consideration would be the first in the nation to explicitly promote a specific religion.
The Florida Legislature is considering a specialty plate with a design that includes a Christian cross, a stained-glass window and the words "I Believe."
Rep. Edward Bullard, the plate's sponsor, said people who "believe in their college or university" or "believe in their football team" already have license plates they can buy. The new design is a chance for others to put a tag on their cars with "something they believe in," he said.
If the plate is approved, Florida would become the first state to have a license plate featuring a religious symbol that's not part of a college logo.

Believe it or not I don't have a problem with this particular situation because it's the individual who's paying extra to get the Christian license plates which will identify themselves as a Christian as opposed to a Christian symbol in a public building like the Ten Commandments in a Court House in which government is clearly promoting a particular religion. Somehow I doubt if any state will come up with an atheist license plate but I wouldn't get one if they did because I'd be afraid that someone would vandalize my car.

They'll lose in court. Same thing happened with the anti-choice plates.
I would assume they'd have to include Jewish, Atheist, Flying Spaghetti Monster, etc. as well, like you said, Montana.

Actually, I don't mind it either. As long as people are paying extra for it.
In fact, I'd love to have my very own "I Don't Believe" plate.

I thnik if you can get enough interest then most states would be glad to make the I don't believe plates. The thing is to get enough interest that it would be worth it to the state.Maybe some states that are too politically correct to give either fair voice like other groups tho.

I don't care if people want to put this on their plates.
Florida already has so many different license plates, whats one more?
I have never believed in advertising anything on my car that might make them want to damage my car in order to show they disagree. I have never had a bumper sticker or anything of the like so this basically doesn't phase me.

Same here.
I really don't care as long as other religions (atleast anything with a sizeable following) have the same ability to get tacky liscense plates.

I agree with the "tacky " . I don't care what people put on their car as long as it isn't porn . I certainly would not be impressed as to their faith. Advertising that "I am a Christian" does not impress me, behavior does...
