Help me find bible quotes!
I'm collecting resources and would like some help finding bible quotes;
Specifically, I'd like to find quotes that mention the heart.
Also, I'd like to find bible quotes that very exactly mention the brain. Not insinuations, but exact mention of the brain.
And any good metaphors in the bible would interest me also.
Writing the quotes is not necessary, merely provide the location by chapter and verse.

Why not go to an Online Bible like Gateway and do a search under whatever word you are interested in ? Or, go to a Bible and look in the concordance in the back under the specific word. Scripture Verse references will be given for each word.

To my knowledge I do not ever remember any reference to the "brain". as for the heart...it is usually refered to someones motives or emotions. I do not know of any anatomy in the bible. I am an RN so I'd remember .....I think.....

I don't believe there are any that mention the word "brain" specifically in any versions except The Message Bible. The Message doesn't claim total accuracy, though. It's written in modern day language and says their goal is to get the concept of each scripture. I like reading it as a cross-reference, to see how they word certain scriptures, but it's not one I study from.

You could use BibleGateway.com to do a search for other words, like "intellect" or "mind."

You can search for any word or phrase in the King James version of the bible at the following link:

It's free, and you can even have the bible read to you at that link. (Just ignore the other books of the Mormon canon if you prefer, the entire bible is there too, you can restrict your search to just Old Testament or New Testament if that's what you want.) |
