The September 11, 2001 attacks occasioned small [1] outbreaks of public celebration in some Arab communities in and around the Palestinian territories. In response the Palestinian leadership and Muslim groups, including many from the USA, vocally distanced themselves from such behavior and also condemned it.

Emphasis on the word small...( fundamentalists were celebrating )

Probably it's google-able. I had links on my AOL account, back on another board. Which sounds really sketchy and I apologize, but I'm not offended if you feel the need not to take my word for it.

Just to circumvent the "why haven't American Muslims spoken out" discussion that certainly is coming, here's a link for grits and her idealogical siblings:

Muslim Americans

It's sad news when any religion is growing. Well, I suppose Islam isn't as bad as Christianity, in that Christians worship a very feminine mythical character.

So what you're saying is that the minute a Christian does something horrible you get to disavow him and thereby avoid any association that might sully your own high opinion of yourself? Handy. So handy, in fact, for so many people, that this particular logical fallacy has its own name: "No true Scotsman".

no not at all you a twisting what I said....Hitlar did not just do one bad thing....he was over all evil, that is the type of "bad things" I was talking about, there is no man not a sinner nor pure, but there are people that try and do good and others that just do not care. That is the difference in what I am saying and you are. As far as my opinion of myself it is the same as I would have towards you.

Why do most of the countries that are predominately Muslim outlaw religious freedom, especially Christianity? There are people who are killed all the time because they proclamed that Jesus was the only son of God, and they weren't strapping bombs to their bodies, so who were they hurting?
Some of these countries outlaw the bible, and local fellowship among Christians. I could understand if maybe one or two countries acted like this, but that's not the case.

As a mulim friend of mine said many so called muslims are now muslims at all theyjust use the lbel to gain control. He also says that many are actually changing to other religions as they no long think that the faith is for the faithful. He says that is why they fear christianiyt in so many muslim countries. Itmakes sense if you think about it.

Perhaps Islam is the fastest growing religion over all but I have heard from many that in the Americas the fastest growing religion is what we generally call "Santerìa" which is the common name in the US for this mixture of African and Christian beliefs. Santerìa however is just one branch of a much larger religion which is not just found in Cuba and Puerto Rico. It also exists in South America in Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia and in other countries to a lesser extent but it is growing. Called Macumba, Umbando, Candomble and even Voodoo.

A few years ago I went to Brazil and I was surprised at the number of Non-Afro Brazilians who have embraced this religion in one of it's many branches. It is certainly a, for the most part, peaceful religion that has many intriguing aspects that draw many to it. recently it seems to have surfaced in some Western European nations.

Here i a web page that gives some basic information on it. you can see that the freedom it offers is very appealing
